Sypnosis | The human body makes many adjustments to compensate for the demands of aviation. Measuring these physiological changes is important to promote safety and wellness during flight. In this talk, I will discuss the role of wearables and health sensors in modern aviation. First, I will introduce the important features of the flight environment and their physiological effects on the body. Next, I will describe key sensors used to measure health parameters and summarize their working principles. Finally, I will discuss current and emerging sensors that allow these parameters to be measured continuously and unobtrusively. Engineering insights relevant to the various work packages of this project will be highlighted throughout this talk. |
