Kwok Wai is a Past Head and faculty member in the Department of the Built Environment (DBE) at the College of Design and Engineering, NUS. He is a Fellow of the International Academy for Indoor Air Sciences and the World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies, and a Past President of the International Society of Indoor Air Quality. He is editorial board member of several journals in the field of indoor environment and air quality. He is actively involved in World Health Organization (WHO) commissions on Air Quality guidelines and technical panels on Ventilation and Engineering Control for mitigation of airborne disease transmission. In Singapore, he has been involved in the development of Indoor Air Quality guidelines, and chairs Enterprise Singapore’s Technical Committee on Chemical and Biological Sciences, and National Environment Agency’s Expert Panel for Biological Terrain Decontamination. He is a founding Director of Enhanced Air Quality PL, an NUS spin-off company based on the technologies associated with innovative air-conditioning. His research interest is in the interactions and impact between humans and the indoor environment with particular focus on health & wellbeing, cognitive performance, comfort & satisfaction. He enjoys travel, exploration, trekking and conversations.
