I am an MD‐PhD student, currently in the Chronobiology and Sleep Laboratory (CSL) at Duke‐NUS Medical School. Prior to embarking on this MSTP journey, I double‐majored in Biological Sciences (with a concentration in Neurobiology) and Computer Science (with a concentration in Human‐Computer Interfaces) at Northwestern University. Naturally, my research interests lie in the intersection of these two fields, including Brain‐Computer Interfaces (BCI) – and by extension, Med Tech as a whole – and employing data analytics to decipher aspects of the human brain, such as sleep. At CSL, we study the effects of the homeostatic function of sleep on cognitive function, psychiatric disorders, and metabolism, to name a few, as well as factors that can be leveraged to improve sleep. When I’m not busy coding or studying, I spend a lot of time involved in sports, such as badminton, Muay Thai and rugby (both touch and contact). I also love open water diving, sailing and hiking – basically anything that allows me to be outdoors and explore the many wonders of nature.
