Honourable Governor & Distinguished Delegates

The governor and distinguished delegates from Hainan Province, China visited the SIA-NUS Digital Aviation Corporate Lab on the 17 June 2025, Tuesday.  

On 16 June 2025, the Institute of Operations Research and Analytics (IORA) and the SIA‑NUS Digital Aviation Corporate Laboratory had the honour of hosting a delegation from Hainan Province, led by the Honourable Governor of Hainan.

The visit featured an opening briefing, where we provided a strategic overview of IORA’s ongoing collaborations—spanning partnerships with the Ministry of Health, Singapore Pools, and other key stakeholders. This was followed by an in-depth presentation of the Corporate Laboratory’s major research work:

  • Work Package 1: Revenue Management & Dynamic Pricing – Leveraging data-driven demand modeling and seat-allocation optimization tools.
  • Work Package 2: Transforming Competency & Skill Development – Advanced pilot and crew training enhanced with eye-tracking, AR/VR, and immersive post-training analytics.
  • Work Package 3: Employee Wellness – Development of wearable sensor systems and fatigue‐alertness models aimed at boosting crew health, safety, and on‑duty performance.
  • Work Package 4: Passenger Comfort, Sleep & Connected Cabin – A cabin‐environment simulator testing innovations in seating, sleep optimisation, environmental control systems, and sensor‑driven service protocols. 
 

The Governor and his delegation participated actively during the sessions, posing insightful questions and engaging with our research leads on topics ranging from pricing analytics and biometric wellness solutions to the integration of simulation-based training.

Following the presentations, we conducted a guided tour of the Corporate Laboratory’s immersive facilities, including the cabin and cockpit simulators, AR/VR setups, and live demonstrator pods—underscoring the breadth and practical relevance of our work.
