I am a Ph.D. student in Economics (2019 intake) at NUS. Prior to my Ph.D. study, I obtained my MS in Quantitive Finance from the Department of Mathematics (NUS), BS in Computational Chemistry, and BS in Mathematical Finance (Xiamen University). I am fascinated by the questions related to industry dynamics and firms’ strategies, especially platforms (both centralized and decentralized). Concrete examples of these include dynamics of pricing, competition/cooperation, user acquisition, mechanism design, anti-trust, and merger. My research goals are to (1) understand and evaluate agents’ strategic behaviors (e.g. from the firm side, consumer side, and regulator side); (2) find optimal strategies for policymakers (anti-trust, fairness), firms (profit maximization) and consumers (welfare maximization). Apart from research, I enjoy eating, reading (e.g. business, history, Jin Yong’s novels), and driving. I am a big fan of Albert Camus, I am looking forward to systematically studying philosophy after graduation.
